We have a lot of space with a number of buildings. This breakdown should help define what areas are yours, which are shared, and which are private (ours).

Yurt - All yours

Privy - All yours

Main House (biggest red building) - This is where the shower is located and is shared with us the hosts. It is designated for guest-use only from 9:00am to 7:00pm. The rest of the house is closed off from the shower area and is private.

Sauna - All yours

Outdoors (trails, garden, yard, etc.) - Shared. We stay out of the yurt area while guests are present to provide guests with privacy.

Summer Kitchen/Woodshed (red building north of main house & hot tub) - Private

Green/white Shed - Private

Greenhouse - Private

Tool Shed - Private

 Yurt Sink

The sink in the yurt is a self-contained camp sink with a 20 gallon tank that provides hot and cold water. This water is potable and safe to drink.

We ask you to keep it's limited capacity in mind as you use it throughout your stay.

**If the tank runs out of water you will hear the pump run continuously. Please unplug both the pump AND water heater (outlet on the right-hand side of the sink) and message us so we can refill your water.

Message us using the Airbnb app or by texting/calling 715-307-2915.

 Yurt Windows

Windows are attached to the yurt with Velcro on the outside so you have to be outside the yurt to open or close the windows.

To open yurt windows, simply detach Velcro at the top and sides. This will allow the window to hang open while still being attached to the yurt at the bottom of the window opening.

To close yurt windows, simply re-attach Velcro at the top and sides. Be sure to press along edges of window to make sure there are no gaps.

Coffee & Tea

Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the morning!

Coffee, tea bags, hot cocoa, and electric kettle are provided for you to make coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

The electric kettle is simple to use. Just put in your desired amount of water (no more than 1.5 liters), press down the white toggle switch below the handle, and your water will be boiling in 6-7 minutes after which it will automatically shut off.

Coffee can be brewed using the French Press. See instructions below:

Mosquito Protection

On the hook near the door you will find a bag of mosquito protection including bug spray, bug nets, and a Thermacell mosquito repeller. The bug nets are best worn with a brimmed hat. Below you’ll find instructions on how to operate the Thermacell mosquito repeller.

 Pull-Out Bed

The couch in the yurt contains a pull-out bed for groups of 3-4 guests.

All bedding for the pull-out bed can be found inside the gray chest pictured below on the right.

 Heating & Cooling

We provide space heaters during the cooler months of Spring and Fall.

For cooling and air circulation, there is a stand fan in the yurt and an additional small fan under the sink.

Pro tip for best cooling in the yurt is to have one fan blowing air in from the window by the refrigerator and one fan blowing air out of the window by the couch. This allows cool air to be pushed in from the forest while hot air is pulled out.

 Sauna

We are available to start the sauna between 7:00am and 8:00pm. Feel free to start the sauna wood stove yourself keeping in mind that it takes 1 hour to 1.5 hours to heat up.

How to use the Sauna

  • If you want us to start the sauna wood stove for you, message or call us (use Airbnb app or text/call 715-307-2915) at least 1.5 hours before you want to use the sauna.

  • Please leave your shoes and hang outer clothes in sauna's entry area.

  • To create steam and heat, ladle some water onto the stones around the chimney, try to avoid the chimney itself.

  • There is a drain in the floor so feel free to splash water on yourself while inside the sauna.

  • The higher the bench you're on, the higher the temperature will be (if you're feeling too hot, move to a lower bench.)

  • When you are done, just make sure you turn off the lights (light-switch is on outside of sauna between door and stove) and don't forget your things.

Sauna Rules
